Need to level up your gaming chair? We listed the top-rated and best-selling gaming chairs, starting at just $120.
We’ve compared the best gaming chairs of 2021. Gtracing, Respawn, and other big names are hugely popular. But if you’re on a budget, there are some great alternative underdog picks as well!
Gaming chair popularity has been on the rise. Why? Because more gamers are switching to a computer monitor for various reasons, like a higher refresh rate. But with that typically comes the need for a comfortable gaming chair. A computer monitor and lounging back on your couch 10 feet away don’t really go hand in hand.
Curious about our picks? Let’s dive right in.
We love this GTracing chair as it offers a big bang for your buck. And getting the most out of your money, well, isn’t that what it’s all about? If you don’t care about the Bluetooth speakers, get the speaker-free model and save a few bucks on an already great deal!
The Gtracing gaming chair offers thick padding of high-density foam. That means a comfortable play that will hold up for years! Additionally, it comes with two lumbar pillows for additional support. These pillows are adjustable and can be removed if they aren’t for you.
Available in various colors, including pink!
Connect to anything that offers Bluetooth for an instant surround sound play. Whether that’s your phone, tablet, computer, Xbox, or PlayStation. The only downside of the surround sound system is that it needs to be charged. The chair has a small USB charging port at the back. We found that a charge will last us anywhere around 6-8 hours. So if you’re an occasional gamer, that means 4 days or so before you need to charge.
Gtracing isn’t very clear on the total dimensions of this chair. After measuring, we found the chair’s dimensions to be 52” tall. The seating area is 21.5” wide x 18” deep. The backrest is 33” in height.
The armrests and seats are adjustable in height. The seat offers a 90 to 170-degree recline. If you’d like to remove the headrest, you can do so.
The respawn 110 may be Respawns number one seller, and it’s easy to see why. Price-wise, this chair falls into the entry-level category. But quality-wise, it far succeeds entry-level. Thick padding, highly customizable adjustments, footrest, quality material are all items that make this chair perform similarly to chairs costing $50-$100 more.
The respawn contains thick, highly contoured padding, finished with faux leather upholstery. It includes an adjustable head and backrest pillow. It also features a footrest if you want to relax and lay back.
The seat can be adjusted from 19.25” to 22.50” in height. The seat has a depth of 21.5” and a width of 21”. The armrests are not adjustable in height, though they recline with you. The chair reclines 90 – 155 degrees.
If you seek that traditional comfort of playing from your couch, the respawn 900 offers exactly that. While it is extremely comfortable and packed with features, it does have a downfall. It is not adjustable. You can’t raise the chair or armrests at all. So, be sure to check the dimensions below before you buy. If it isn’t a perfect fit right out of the box, there is no adjusting it.
There are no gaps for wires to get caught on or phones to fall through with a full continuous surface. While most gaming chairs recline, the respawn takes it to a whole nother level. The back recliner and footrest are controlled independently, just like a comfortable couch recliner.
We love the wide armrests that are amazingly comfortable as well. And having a cup holder and side pocket to boot, well, that’s just everything you could wish for! No more, where’s my controller – or needing a side table for that energy drink.
The chair offers a 17.25″ seat height. This is typically the recommended height for people 5’2 to 5’10. So if you’re taller, you may feel like the chair sits just a bit too low. The only thing we don’t like about the Respawn 900 is that it is not adjustable. That means no height or armrest adjustability, which is a pretty big con for the hefty price tag. But, if it’s a perfect fit, you’ll absolutely love this chair!
The Homall gaming chair is a budget-friendly underdog among top brands. It offers quality and durability at a lower price. Why? Because it’s basically brandless.
But, brandless or not, Homall did a wonderful job creating this gaming chair. It is very comfortable, especially so for taller and heavier individuals. If you’re a 6’ guy weighing 200+lbs, it can be difficult to find something that is actually comfortable. If that sounds familiar, give the Homall a chance. You won’t regret it.
The Homall gaming chair keeps things simple but does it well. It offers a high-density shaping foam, which is very comfortable and durable. The 1.8mm steel is thicker than steel found in most chairs. That means higher weight support and longer durability.
Size of back: 22.5” by 30.5”. Size of seat: 14.5″ by 20.5″. The seat height is adjustable from 17.3” to 21.5”. Holds up to 300lbs.
Marvel fans, this gaming chair is what you’ve been waiting for! Not only is this chair comfortable, adjustable, and durable, it will instantly elevate your gaming room as well.
Available themes: Deadpool, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Iron man, and Spiderman.
The massaging back support is basic but comfortable. It’s also adjustable, so you can raise it or lower it as desired.
The footrest is optional and can be included at an additional charge of around $30. Whether the footrest is worth the upgrade or not is arguable. We found that the footrest is too small for adults, making it rather uncomfortable than comfortable. For children, however, it’s probably a sweet upgrade.
The chair height is adjustable from 50” to 54”. The seating area measures 22” by 22” and is adjustable in height from 18” to 22”. Armrests can be adjusted from 11” to 14”. Back support is 28” wide.
If you’ve been a fan of rocker chairs, or always wanted one since you were a child, you’ll love the X Rocker SE 2.1. It comes with desired adult upgrades, like a pedestal so you’re not struggling to get in and out, and welcomed armrests.
Rockers are well-known to provide surround game audio. Whether that’s a mobile, tablet, computer, console or simply watching a movie. The 2 speakers and 4” subwoofer will enhance your experience.
Connect wirelessly through wifi to Xbox, PlayStation, and a wide variety of other devices. If you prefer/need a wired connection, no problem. Connect it directly to the device or to the controller, and you’re set.
Rockers, even those with pedestals, are not meant for desks. They sit too low. Rockers typically sit directly onto the ground. With the pedestal, it’s definitely easier to get in and out (especially for adults), but you’re still only about 15” off the ground. So if you plan on gaming at a desk, this chair isn’t for you.
Length 22.6”, width 30.7”, and height 37.6”. The pedestal boosts the chair 12” off of the ground from the bottom. The top of the seating area sits 15” off the ground.
Another underdog that checks all the boxes at an unbeatable price. While the massaging cushion is a nice bonus, we found it to be just that, a bonus. But the chair itself is well worth the money.
The Von Racer gaming chair takes about 30 minutes to assemble, it even includes assembly gloves. Yep, that was a first for me too, but hey, I’m not complaining!
Aside from easy assembly, it’s easy to adjust as well. Game mode? Check. Chill mode? Just recline, turn on the back massager, and pop up the footrest.
Combine these wonderful features with durable and comfortable material, and you have yourself a budget-friendly winner. This is why it’s our favorite budget gaming chair!
The chair’s complete height is 48.8” to 52”. The seat height can be adjusted from 18.1” to 21.3”. The seat width measures 18”. Backrest height is 32.3”. The armrests can be adjusted up and down and left to right. This chair reclines up to 135 degrees and swivels 360 degrees. Overall, this chair falls in the larger chair size category, which is wonderful if you’re tall, or you prefer a larger chair in general.
Whether you’re actually big and tall, or you’re simply looking for a larger than usual chair, you’ll fall in love with the Fantasy Lab Big & Tall. It’s so adjustable that it fits anyone. If you are larger in size, you’ll be happy to know this chair supports up to 440lbs!
Most chairs feature the same foam padding. And while that padding is durable and comfortable, this chair offers a gel foam, which is even more comfortable! Faux leather? Nope, real breathable leather here. The mesh cover over the seating cushion can also be removed and washed, which is a nice bonus for those intense games on warm days!
If you are average size, don’t worry that you’ll “drown” in this chair. It’s amazingly comfortable, and the extra room isn’t too much. It’s pretty much perfect.
The seat can be adjusted from 18.1” to 20.5” in height. The seat measures 22” by 22” and is nearly 5” thick.. The backrest is extra tall, measuring 32.3” in height and 24.8” in width. The padded armrests are 9.4” long, and can be adjusted up, down, left, and right. The overall height of the chair is 48.4” to 50.8”. Prefer a recline position? Recline and lock the position up to 155 degrees.
